MLB Introduces Official Betting

Official betting is an exciting and innovative way to engage fans during live events. Powered by official data, our first-of-its-kind official sportsbook solution gives sportsbooks across regulated states an easy way to offer fans a range of in-race betting markets. It’s the only place where you can bet directly on a race while it’s happening, offering a more engaged betting experience than ever before.

The Supreme Court overturned a federal ban on sports betting, but state governments have been deciding how to regulate the industry. While some states have continued to reject sports betting, others are welcoming it with open arms. Kansas joined the ranks in 2022, when Gov. Laura Kennedy signed a bill into law and legal sports betting went live Sept. 1.

Before placing a wager, you must verify your identity. This process involves uploading scanned documents such as your driver’s license and household bills. You may also be asked to answer security questions or create a password. Some sites will ask for the last four digits of your Social Security Number.

MLB is committed to ensuring that fans who choose to bet have the tools and resources they need to do so responsibly. To this end, the league partners with the American Gaming Association’s Have a Game Plan. Bet Responsibly. campaign, and is a Platinum Member of the National Council on Problem Gambling. As a result, MLB is well-positioned to be an industry leader in responsible gambling efforts.
